Harrisville Designs Model T8 Floor Loom

Harrisville Designs floor looms are hand-built, using the highest quality hard rock maple. All of their floor looms feature an innovative tie-up system, using “snap chains” instead of cords and knots, or wires that fall out. The tie-up is quick, simple and secure for any treadle to harness combination. Harrisville Designs looms are designed with a friction brake for excellent tension control and an adjustable beater to accommodate reeds of different heights and widths. The suspended harnesses make the jack-action light, quiet, smooth and rhythmical - the way it should be. Unlike most looms, their floor looms are easily folded while fully warped, leaving the tie-up intact. Take them to workshops, unfold them, and you're ready to weave! Living in a small apartment? They can be folded and tucked away to entertain company or minimize studio space.

The Model T8 weaves a full 36 inches and comes with 8 harnesses and 10 treadles. The 8 harness, 10 treadle combination make the Model T8 both convenient and versatile. One of the trademarks of the Harrisville Designs looms is their high castles. Harrisville Designs tool trays take advantage of this design and create a convenient storage space where it is needed most. Extra shuttles, bobbins, and reed hooks can be stored in front of and directly above the weaving area. The shallow depth of the trays prevent tools from being out of sight. Made from the same hardwood as the looms, the tool trays become a practical and attractive addition.
