Summer and Winter Tea Towels Pattern

Summer and Winter Tea Towels Pattern

This pattern creates a deceptively complex design using only two pattern blocks of Summer & Winter. The clean, classic stripes in the warp are broken up by strategically placed bars of pattern weft to make textured, interlocking paths of colour. Changing up the weft colour creates a strikingly different variation! These towels are as practical as they are beautiful, with cottolin in the warp and tabby adding strength and absorbency.

This pattern was specifically designed for our Weaving 3 course as a great way to learn about Summer and Winter as a weave structure. It is a great “base” pattern to modify with your own colour combinations or treadling variations.

This pattern requires a four shaft loom.

You’ll need a reed at least 18.3” wide that is  ideally 12 or 18 dents per inch.

Difficulty: Intermediate

Finished Dimensions: 3 tea towels, 15" x 26”

PDF - Download: This is for a PDF Pattern download only. This is not a finished product. All PDF Patterns are non-refundable.

We include a wif download for weavers using weaving software. If you are not using weaving software, not to worry. Everything you need is in the PDF. Happy weaving!
