The Wool
100% wool grown + spun on treaty 6, 7 and 8 territory in Alberta. Worsted weight, 2 ply.
Gather has been working in collaboration with local wool and dye expert Kalea Turner-Beckman, local farmers, and Gather weaver Shannon Nelson to bring you a line of blanket wool designed specifically for weavers. This is a project that has been over a year in the making.
Parkland Blanket Wool has been extensively woven and sampled in our studio. When you weave with Parkland Blanket Wool, you are joining us in this sustainable project. With your support, we aim to offer you a new local weaving wool each year.

Finished Dimensions: approx 37" x 55" long after washing
This Kit Includes:
- Everything you need to create one Parkland Blanket (approx 37" x 55" long after washing)Â
- 1x 100 gram undyed skein in Black Henbane
- 3x 50 gram naturally dyed skeins (Coreopsis/Marigold/Tansy gradient)
- 3 cones of Yarrow (white)
- Printed weaving draft and pattern details
- Complete guide to Parkland Blanket Wool including all 6 pattern PDFs!
To use this kit you will need access to a 4 shaft loom with a weaving width of 45" and an 8 dent reed.
