Parkland Blanket Wool Pattern: Parkland Checks

Parkland Blanket Wool Pattern: Parkland Checks

Join us in using this traceable, sustainable local wool to create the most beautiful blanket!

Designed by Mila Zenith, this blanket makes the perfect luxury gift for the sustainably minded person in your life (even if that is you)!

The wool:

100% wool grown + spun on treaty 6, 7 and 8 territory in Alberta. Worsted weight, 2 ply.

Gather has been working in collaboration with local wool and dye expert Kalea Turner-Beckman, local farmers, and Gather weaver Shanon Nelson to bring you a line of blanket wool designed specifically for weavers. This is a project that has been over a year in the making.

Parkland Blanket Wool has been extensively woven and sampled in our studio. When you weave with Parkland Blanket Wool, you are joining us in this sustainable project. With your support, we aim to offer you a new local weaving wool each year.

To use this pattern you will need access to a 4 shaft loom with a weaving width of 45" and an 8 dent reed.

Difficulty: Beginner

This blanket reflects a project that was made to use up a bunch of partial cones leftover from previous throws. The result is a delightful pointed twill blanket that is sure to be a family favorite for snuggling up with. The colors and yardage are provided in this pattern to weave it exactly as pictured, and alternatively, simpler variants are provided that would require fewer cones and skeins.

Finished Dimensions: finished blankets are (approx 37" wide and 58" long after washing)

PDF - Download: This is for a PDF Pattern download only. This is not a finished product. All PDF Patterns are non-refundable.
