Structure Session: Weaving With Marguerite Porter Davison

Structure Session: Weaving With Marguerite Porter Davison

Date: March 24
Time: 6:00PM-7:30PM MST

With Jamie Hurlburt and Kim McCollum

All Structure Sessions will be held via Zoom. A link will be sent out the day of the session to the email used when you place your order. The recording will be sent out after the session and you will have access to the recording for one month.

Description:

For the past 18 months, Jamie and Kim have been working their way through Marguerite Porter Davison’s iconic book of drafts A Handweaver’s Pattern Book. They have translated the drafts into weaving software, investigated inconsistencies, woven hundreds of yards of samples (with the help of many handy weavers) and learned a lot about both Davison and her patterns along the way!

Join us as we talk about Davison’s life and work and the complicated story of how “the Green Book” became a weaving classic. We’ll share how we approached updating and correcting Davison’s drafts, why weaving in colour brings patterns to life, and what we’ve learned from actually getting her drafts on the loom.

Please see our policy for workshops and FAQ before purchasing.
