Colour and Weave Gamp Pattern

This intricate Colour and Weave Gamp is a small but mighty planning tool! It is amazing to watch the gamp unfold - so many visual possibilities using only black and white with a plain weave structure. This gamp lets you explore the impacts of colour sequence in your warp and weft. The high contrast of black and white works well to make the patterns pop.

The Colour and Weave Gamp is all in plain weave, so it can be woven on a loom with 2 or more shafts. The width in the reed is just under 16” so you’ll want a 16” reed or larger. The sett is 18 ends per inch, so you can use a reed that is 18 DPI or a 12 DPI reed also works well sleyed 1-2-1-2. This is a beginner friendly project meant to build your vocabulary of twill threadings and treadlings.
