Twill Gamp Pattern

Weaving a twill gamp is one of the best ways to learn all about twill. You get to see all sorts of twill patterns come together, making the perfect reference tool for future projects. You can use it to decide what combinations you like individually and together. This is a fun, rewarding, and relatively quick project. 

The warp of this gamp is long enough to make a second gamp in another colour or try out even more twill treadlings. You might find that patterns you found too busy in a high contrast colour combination really shine with a lower contrast. Pin this gamp up on the wall near your loom to inspire your future projects and show off to your textile enthusiast pals!

This pattern requires a four shaft loom.

You’ll need a reed at least 13” wide that is ideally 12 or 18 dents per inch.

Finished Dimensions: One 11x12” gamp with some warp left over to experiment
